#8 Silk loose lashes or Silk tray lashes

As time goes on lash extensions develop and so does the training and education. Most of us Lash technicians started using loose black silk lashes before 2009 and then began using silk lashes in tray form. What do you like to use ? Some may say the loose lashes are great because more lashes are in a 1 gram bag, which maybe from 2400-3000 single lashes, than in a tray which maybe around 200-2500 single lashes. Here are a few quick points between the two. Loose lashes:
  • Holds more lashes in a 1 gram bag
  • Have to be sprinkled on a sponge pad to be picked up first.
  • Are not manufactured in 0.05mm, 0.07mm, 0.08mm thicknesses. Which are used for Volume lashes.
  • Available in gloss and matte black
  • Available in Mink and silk (Synthetic)
Tray lashes:
  • Holds around 2500 single lashes
  • Manufactures in 12 lines or 16 lines in a tray
  • More variety with two-toned lashes, glitter lashes, crystal lashes and Swarovski lashes.
  • All manufactured in 0.05mm, 0.07mm, 0.08mm thicknesses. Which are used for Volume lashes.
  • Available in gloss and matte black
  • Available in Mink and silk (Synthetic)
  • Easier to pick from the tray to apply on natural lashes.
